Yasuo Fukuda has been replaced by Taro Aso, and Thabo Mbeki has resigned. Any chance of an updated version?

"Hu" should be accepted for President Hu Jintao-- I know that some Westerners aren't familiar with the idea of the "last name" coming first, but he's still President Hu.

And today you'll need an update again. It seems that one unfamiliar country called 'united states' has got a new president.

Could we have a world leaders quiz of all Presidents, PMs etc? Obviously it would need fairly regular updates but it is possible in theory.

Needs to be updated for Obama. Also, whether or not just "Hu" is acceptable for Hu Jintao (I think it should be), "Jintao" certainly should not be - this is like accepting "Nicolas" for Sarkozy.

To all the people who've commented requesting updates: this will happen much faster if you use the feedback link at the bottom of the page rather than relying on the admins happening to read the comments.

I feel guilty, I didn't know India's PM so I guessed "Singh" and got it right on the first try. Somehow that just feels racist.

What the heck? For Brazil it is Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva right? Well I type in Luiz Inacio da Silva... apparently that is not enough.

Lula is no longer president of Brazil. And it might be nice to accept the other leader for those who have two... Especially Russia... Everyone knows Medvedev has no power anyway...

It would be good to accept "Dilma" for Brazilian president - she's rather universally referred to by her first name, just as Lula went by his nickname, not "da Silva"

Not yet, eon. Nieto is the presumed President-elect of Mexico but his term (assuming that claims of election irregularities don't amount to anything) would not begin until December 1, 2012.

You're going to hate this suggestion! Please would you add a note that the answers were uptodate as of *date*? I scrolled down to find the date the quiz was written and set about trying to remember who was in power back in 2008!

@Ovamiat: No. Neither of those is leader of those countries. In fact, the Pope rules the Vatican, which we all know isn't part of Italy. And Xi Jinping has become the new Chinese premier.
