Nice quiz for a sunday morning, bit easy if you speak the language though, and 2 minutes hardly makes it any more challenging.

I am deeply ashamed to admit that I graduated from college with a French minor and I only got 5 right. It's been way too long since I've used it.

Agree with debbie. Took five years of it, only got 6. I tried to come up with something clever to write here in French, but can't even remember anything that would be remotely coherent. I'm ashamed of myself.

8/10, after 25 years of not using my high school French. Merci, M. Johanssen, wherever you are! :)

Only 5 years removed from high school Francais here, and I got them all. Quite happy I spelled Aujourd'hui right, too :)

I got them all - and I left school over 20 years ago...good to see there was some point to learning them....who would've guessed the only use I'd put those French lessons to was a Sporcle quiz!

Nice quiz - especially with today, tomorrow and yesterday at the end. Unfortunately couldn't get the german 'Gestern' out of my head for a while...

I actually got seven of ten despite not taking French in seven years. I'm very proud of myself.

Even though I only got 2 right, I like how this quiz included words for today, yesterday, and tomorrow. I wish the German days quiz was set up like that.

It should probably accept lendemain for tomorrow as well.

@Monoclinic: I like the way you think! However, 'lendemain' is 'following day' or the 'day after', which sometimes means tomorrow but many times doesn't, e.g. "I'll play Sporcle next Wednesday and again the following day" would use 'lendemain' [I believe... could be getting myself in trouble here ;-)] but it wouldn't mean "tomorrow".

Commiserations for those who are shocked at how much they've forgotten. I have a degree in French Linguistics & I had to look up one of the answers!! Je suis désolé, M. Tranel!

@Lisa: Hence my choice of tense! Ouai, tout à fait, it does mean next day or the following day but seeing as so many quizzes allow such tenious answers I suggested what else should possibly be given as an answer.

I started learning French at the age of eight and I only got 6 correct. German just sticks in my head so much better. I was trying to think of the French word for "today" and my head just wouldn't stop telling me it's "heute".

I cannot believe how many people here admit they studied French, as their MAJOR, in school, and didn't know these ridiculously easy basics. That's (American?) language learning for you. The problem with a quiz like this is that if you're even passingly familiar with the language, it's as easy as writing your name, while if you don't know French, there's no point in even trying.

^ What ensiform Said. I did it for 5 years at school along with Deutsch, haven't done it for 5 years, but this quiz is still trivially easy. Trop facile. I can understand those getting the German stuck in place of the French though lol.

Shouldn't the first letters not be capitalized, as the French don't capitalize days?

Up until the last 20 seconds I kept having the Spanish words for the days in my head instead... it wasn't until I remembered mercredi that I was able to get most of the other ones.

A great game. Easy for people in Year 6 and up, but if you are Year 4 or 5 then it is challenging but not too hard. Super!

@cukoos1 I've only taken 3 years and it was easy for me. The only trouble I had was remembering the first "r" in mercredi. Still managed it after staring at the misspelled word for about 20 seconds. lol. fun quiz. And @ensiform I'm American and plan to minor or double major in it, and I got all the answers, so please, before you've been IN an American school, don't judge how the teachers teach.
