@chux - the French numbers quiz accepted regional dialect variations from Switzerland and Belgium - given that moose are an important part of Québecois heritage, the Québecois word for the animal should be accepted.

Now you've got "orignal" getting accepted for "souris". Orignal is the Canadian French word for MOOSE not MOUSE. :)

Should porc work for pig? I just tried it in jest and it came up with the answer given. I thought porc was purely the meat.

I think my French teacher failed. Miserably. I've never heard of any of those (other than cat and dog) - why did she not teach us? All I know is grenouille, but search as I might, there is no frog on the quiz!

As someone pointed out, it's "renard", not "rénard". It's also a bit annoying how accents aren't accepted, or at least not all of them. And orignal should be accepted for moose.

@Sporcle: moOse / moUse - "orignal" is still turning into "la souris". Thank goodness mice aren't turning into moose... cities and fields overrun with moose. Thanks for the quiz, nevertheless.
