@davidr:It's a cliché :) Most french people don't eat snails or frogs and it's more local than national.Why it became a stereotype I don't know.It's not usual food

I've eaten frogs legs, they were nice. I draw the line at snails though. The french eat Horse (Cheval) as well.

I had escargot at a French restaurant here in the states. They were actually quite good, but then, I love garlic, and that was pretty much the overlying flavor.

I really enjoyed this, brought back memories of my lessons de Francais a l'ecole ^_^ Loads missing though, as already mentioned, like, pamplemousse, pomme de terres, les frites, les chipes, etc etc, lol. Hope there's going to be a part deux!
