@davidr: Thanks for the trip down memory lane!! Saw this with my grandmother when it was in the theatres in 1968, had the LP [yes, vinyl] for awhile, and LOVE the music. Need to get this from Netflix now. Nancy's "As Long As He Needs Me" always got me. Fagin's "Reviewing the Situation", "Consider Yourself"... oh gosh, I may have to buy a copy on my way home!! :-)

@Skydog: I think that's because it just mentions 'steak' and 'jelly' which are generic names, but it specifies 'pease pudding' rather than just generic 'pudding'.

I really wanted to be in Oliver when they staged it at school. Ended up in hospital instead (no connection, just a fact). Great quiz

Did you folks know that Davy Jones, later of the Monkees, was in Oliver on Broadway? I recall a performance on the Ed Sullivan Show, which I have seen first time around, or merely in some retrospective.

Maybe you could accept singulars? I put peach and didn't get it. Saveloy should also work. I know it's not the words, but still...

Well, I'm not sure how the hell I forgot GRUEL (I suppose I came in too late, after all the slow singing. I just wanted the exciting fast-paced part :D Although I agree with everyone who dismisses crust and crumb. They're not foods.
