16/27 from playing the alternative game of `Name big cities in the USA.' :-)

I like it because it shows the transition of the Final Four from large college arenas/famous arenas to gigantic domed stadiums. Kinda sad to think that there won't be another Final Four at Rupp Arena or The Pit in New Mexico

For some reason, I thought the Superdome hosted it more than four times. Maybe I was thinking of Super Bowls.

@ boston bully: Evanston is the next city north of Chicago. It is where Northwestern University is located (even though Northwestern has NEVER made an NCAA tournament OR an NIT).

24/27, not sure how I missed East Rutherford. Got 1.8% because it's the answer to a great trivia question: What's the only school to host the final four despite never qualifying for the NCAA Tournament?

I think Washington DC should of worked for College Park Md. It is metro DC...

Got 18, and I'm happy with that. Big ups, East Rutherford! I'm honestly surprised 13.6% of people thought of that one... unless they just read Burton's comment and copied it, which would be funny and stupid.

Kansas City is #1, of course the Final Four will never be back in my hometown because the NCAA only does Final Fours in football domes that are way too big for basketball. Those places are horrible venues for basketball.

The # of times column is a bit out of order - it has a city with 4 hostings between two with 5.

Keep in mind Kansas City is #1 because the NCAA was headquartered in nearby Overland Park, Kansas, for many years.

I got 16, using the 'name big US cities' technique. 17 if you count the fact I couldn't spell Albuquerque.

Got 23/27, but had near misses on 3 of my missing 4 (DC for College Park, Chicago for Evanston, Tampa for St. Pete). I also tried Charlotte and Raleigh but not Greensboro.

The NCAA should never have left Kansas city when it did. On the bright side we now have the college basketball hall of fame which is awesome.

25/27. Didn't know there was one in College Park, and I guess I spelled Lexington wrong, or maybe I just forgot it.

When the Final Four was in NJ, I believe they advertised the tournament as "The Road to the Meadowlands". Even though the Meadowlands is not a city, true, perhaps the Meadowlands should be an acceptable answer.

KC was my first guess, but I didn't know they had it here 10 times! Missed Albuquerque and San Francisco because I misspelled them when I put them in and figured they weren't on the list. Chicago and DC should count for Evanston and College Park, respectively. Can't believe I didn't think of Philly or Atlanta (especially since KU went to the Final Four there!)

KC has had a lot of Final Fours, but I think that Indy is going to overtake it due to the fact that the NCAA wants it there at least every five years or so.

And we will never see a NY Final Four because of the scheduling conflict with the circus, and there is no dome in NYC.

@weizenugb: Northwestern has been to the NIT four times (1983, 1994, 1999, 2009). They were also national champions in 1931.

yeah, before the final four became a huge event, they used to have it at college campuses like Kentucky and Maryland.
