Nice one! I know lots of people who don't realize that M*A*S*H* was the most watched finale ever....they think Seinfeld was the best show. I grew up with M*A*S*H* and I still watch it every time it comes on. Pure genius!

What? No Bionic Woman? :+) Considering I work in television, I was surprisingly bad at this quiz.

Surprised Hill Street Blues and LA Law didn't appear here. Shocked at Magnum so high too. Magnum is the only one I didn't get that I actually have seasons on DVD.

I don't think the top 5 on this list will likelyhange because I don't see a show ever having that many viewers again. There are simply too many channels and choices. I loved MASH and I'm happy to see it stay where it belongs, but I'm a little saddened that a show like Full House is so high up. it will take a GIANT show (by today's) standards to knock them off this list.

The only show I see knocking any of the top 5 off that list would be The Simpsons, and even then that's tenuous.

Even if "The Tonight Show" isn't enough to get the point (given the year, who else would it be referring to but Carson?), having the answer be "The Tonight Show with Johnny Carson" is just wrong. Leno uses "with", Carson used "Starring"

Whenever American Idol has its final show it will beat these because the last episode of every season breaks all the viewership records

@Travis: Note the rules. American Idol is a "reality" show.

I'm glad "Newhart" made the list. Funniest series ending I've ever seen.

seinfeld is awesome! that's my favorite show, and yeah i always thought it had the most viewers of a finale all time, i guessed mash right though, it's a little before my time or i probably would've been part of that 105.9.

MASH was amazing! So glad it still has its top-spot on the list. Interesting how many of these shows are comedies ... I don't know all of them (not being an American) but I know that well over half are comedies. Don't know what point that makes but I think it's interesting ;o)

Yeah, I was gonna point out the Star Trek TNG too. Maybe they didn't include shows in syndication, but TNG outperformed a lot of network shows.

the Lost series finale only drew about 13 or 14 million, so it would not be on this list

Anyone know the viewership for the last episode of The Mary Tyler Moore Show? It set the standard for how to end a comedy series - all the subsequent comedies in this list owe their variously clever and poignant endings to MTM.

This needs to accept "THE Tonight Show with Johnny Carson." I typed it four or five times and it won't accept it with "the" at the beginning, even that that was the name of the show...

I think the Lost series finale would have been a lot higher if not for seasons 4-6 when the show started to get into that JJ Abrams "I'm not sure where to go from here so I'm gonna just start making up a bunch of weird crap" territory.

I'm surprised (but glad) to see The Golden Girls on this list. A college roommate and I would get drunk and watch a few episodes at least one night a week.

Lame that it doesn't accept "The Tonight Show". Really lame.

Well, given that "The Tonight Show" is still on the air and didn't have its finale in 1993, I don't think it should be accepted. In fact, given that, I don't think it should be on the list at all - Johnny Carson's last episode or not.

I bet so many people watched Everybody Loves Raymond just to make sure it was over.
