I'm surprised Italy hasn't won more.

Hristo Stoichkov is the man! He's also the only correct answer I had.

By getting two, Ronaldo and Gerd Muller, I did better than most. Ah, the joys of doing the association football quizzes before the Europeans get on and destroy me.

the lack of players winning the boot and also winning the cup in the same year kind of disturbs me, but by all means great quiz. (only got 5)

Psyched I even got a third. 4 of them were layups, dont ask me how I remembered the other 4 I got. Oh and my hats off to anyone who knows the Argentinian from 1930 or the Czechoslovakian from '34..

You should really start accepting the correct forms for german umlauts: ä=ae, ö=oe, ü=ue

The 14 I got are also the 14 most guessed. Watching Eurosport's World Cup anthology helped. :)

DerKomissar - the reason there aren't more Italians on this list is because they're not really known for goal-scoring. They win World Cups for having the meanest defence. Schillaci was a one-off - an unknown before & after 1990 world cup, who came good and couldn't stop scoring. I think I spelt his name correctly on the 10th attempt.

In any sporcle quiz, there is always one you know but can't spell! Step forward Mr Schillaci

I got 23, Dražan Jerković eluded me! Chile 1962 is hard! Salenko went out in the Group Stage after winning the Golden Boot! BTW, admit it, how many of you guessed some other Ronaldo...

I am surprised that Garrincha is only the 12th most guessed footballer on this list. Arguably the 2nd best Brasilian ever, some would even say the very best. How do you think Brasil won without Pele? You also see the impression Stoichkov made on American audiences in 1994 as it surprises me that more people got him than Eusebio or Gerd Muller.

Also, how do you suggest a quiz idea? I have some good footballing ones like Cup Winners Cup Winners, UEFA Cup Winners, Clubs with the most total trophies, all time goalscorers, etc.?

I got 9, but missed Müller, Lineker and Garrincha! Actually, I knew Garrincha, but couldn't write it... Only one I got from second row is Lato, I remember him because lato means barn in Finnish.

What about the women that won the golden shoe? Perhaps, we could rename the quiz the male winners of the golden shoe or add the women?

Not exactly a great quiz. How many european football fans would get more than a dozen. I got 18 of them - not Klose whose name I couldn't remember. Impossible for americans. Why not get some understanding of football before coming up with obscure quizzes

Why was this quiz only updated with Muller for 2010? If I'm right, Diego Forlan, David Villa, and Wesley Sneijder all scored five goals, along with Muller.

Muller got the Golden Boot because he did the most assists.
