Even for Americans, it's hard. I got the last two....the previous ones were Chairmen when I was too young to care, or before I was born.

@springmom: I got one more than you did --- mainly because 1979-1987 has been showing up in the news recently. (He investigated the UN Oil for Food program and is now chairing Obama's Economic Recovery Advisory Board.)

Apparently the last one is a magician. A FURIOUS magician. And he needs your teeth for the federal reserve. :)

I didn't even think about just typing in common names to see what would show up, although I will when I do other quizzes.

How were Martin & Greenspan in there so long? I thought there was a max of one 14 year term.

@Jeff: They're only allowed to serve one full fourteen year term as a Governor of the Federal Reserve and the Chairman has to be one of the Governors. However, the same trick applies as with Presidents: if somebody doesn't serve their whole term, their replacement can serve out the rest of their term, plus one full term of their own. So, in theory, somebody could be Chairman for almost 28 years.

Thanks to davidr for the explanation.

yes but a President can only serve for 10 years. So if they take over with three years left in a term, they can only be elected once to the office while someone who takes over with, say one and a half years can be elected into the office 2 times after that

I'm highly pleased that I do not see any New World Order and Illuminati conspiracy theories on this comment thread
