	Jesus, they freakin love to eat in the Oceanic countries, don't they? US isn't even Top 5! For the record, the entire Top 5 is in Oceania, as is 8 of the Top 19, and there are only, what, 14 Oceanic countries?! Insane.

	So much for the notion that obesity is correlated with wealth. You'd think that the poor countries would have the money to overeat, but I guess it's more that they can't afford nutritious food.

	Good point, Kevin. Just to add, some of these poorer countries have a cultural thing where sharing food is part of the daily ritual, with neighbors and friends. This might account for some of the waistlines. ^__^

	Oceania is the last region where the Western diet with all of its saturated fats, refined sugars, and processed foods has finally begun to displace native diets of mostly healthy foods like fish. Actually, fast food is playing a role, as the people of Oceania have not begun to adapt to the rapid changes yet, and thus are finding themselves obese. Also, Nauru has a population of about 10,000, so it's not really that hard to have such a high percentage of overweight adults.

	John2: Also, these are based on BMI measurements which use weight and height. Because muscle weighs more than fat, BMI measurements can be misleading. Someone in really great shape can "appear" to be overweight, using BMI.

	Other than the large amount of countries from Oceania the rest are fairly evenly dispersed around the rest of the planet which is fairly uncommon for quizzes of this sort.

	When you finish the quiz, it asks you "How do you compare to other most overweight countries quiz takers?". I'd just like it to be known that this quiz taker is not overweight ... I'm just wearing a thick jumper, really.

	I know a guy who landed in Tonga without his luggage. He found it very hard to buy any clothes to buy there below about XXL. @emh - while BMI can be misleading in suggesting that some fit sportspeople are overweight I think those people make up such a small percentage of the overall population that they don't really make much difference to these figures. As an aside in my late teens my BMI would have been in the anorexic zone despite the fact that I was quite a big eater.

	I don't understand where the idea of "overweight" comes from. being heavy in Nauru may be normal to them, and everyone else is "underweight".

	It's interesting that whilst so many small Oceanic island nations appear in the list, particularly at the top, some aren't in there at all (Vanuatu, Fiji, Tuvalu...) I wonder what the difference is in these islands?
