Great idea! I was a little confused by the rankings though. My leagues definitely had some differences (Steelers weren't top Def?).

I'm not an avid fantasy footballer myself, but I do appreciate any entity that enlightens people about the likes of Greg Jennings and Visanthe Shiancoe and punishes those that simply bank on Terrell Owens and Chad Eight-Five.

JohnJF: Yeah it just goes to show that the big name WRs aren't necessarily going to be the best fantasy players (although Fitzgerald was both last year). Those guys get all the attention from the defenses and usually are left with only a couple big plays a game...that being said I got Ochocinco this year so I'm hoping he does something.

Surprised Fitzgerald was No. 1 and Anquan Boldin wasn't even on the list. Their numbers were similar, and even with missing a couple games Boldin was a beast.

How are the defenses that low? All you have to do is guess all the teams.

Started reeling off Patriots but realized 08 was not our best year. We were only 11-5 with a backup quarterback and didn't make the playoffs. Yes, Superbowl contender Arizona, 9-7 was it?, was a much better team. yeah, I'm bitter.

@Ernest - Boldin played in only 12 games. Even so, he finished 7th in fantasy points for WRs. Indeed he was a 'beast' when he was playing.

@RyanUR: Much like in a fantasy football draft, people probably waited until there was 30 seconds on the timer to start naming defenses and kickers.

First off, I'm really surprised this got posted- I made it on a lark and figured there was no chance it'd make the site. Second, the way I originally made it was a far different form from what it is now, and this is a huge improvement, so thanks to the Sporcle gods. I'm not sure I even deserve to have my name alone atop this game- it should really be a co-byline game. Third, have fun, everyone.

I hope D-Will continues to prove why he's one of the best backs in the league. 1500+ yards, 20 TDs, 5.5 YPC, all while tying Jim Brown's record for most rushing TD's over 20 yards in a single season last year. It was great to see him listed number 1 in the RB section!

@voljtw: That's not the reason those "big name" receivers aren't on the list- Calvin and Andre Johnson, for example, draw constant double teams and still put up these numbers. The big names we're referring to just aren't that good anymore (i.e. not Fitzgerald).

This quiz proves I know nothing about tight ends. And considering I started playing fantasy football last year, I performed poorly on the rest of this quiz. Much like my performance in fantasy football last year. At least this year I got a quarterback I've heard of!

It's pretty sad that I drafted DeAngelo Williams in my first round draft last night and I forgot about him on the quiz.

As someone who knows nothing about fantasy football, it should be clarified that "Defense" refers to entire teams, not individual defensive players.

Awesome quiz Kicking! Different from usual sports quizzes. Mad I missed 2 Kickers. bravo! Choicecod- Good point. I guess I took it for granted but youre right, if youre not familiar with the concept, it ought to specify.

@ beatnavy, QBs always outperform RBs. The fact that Cutler, Rodgers and Rivers were probably taken no earlier than the 7th round in drafts last year seems to support the decision to emphasize RBs and WRs sooner

The only thing more surprising than John Carney being on this list is the fact that he is even still playing. I wasnt even born when he entered the NFL, and I'm 20 now.

@zalagreensbury: I don't have the actual statistics, but I would guess that, given its enormous advantage in ratings compared to other non-NFL televised events, more women watch the Super Bowl than any other event of the year.

I wish Chad Ochocinco was on this list. I wonder how many people would get that right?
