	There are more than 2 kinds of dripstone. A "column" is what happens when a stalactite and stalagmite come together, for instance. Also, there are 4 kinds of ocean debris, including flotage and derelict.

	@jzev: No: the adjective `basic' is widely-used to mean `of or like a base'. An alkali is a base that is water-soluble; this produces a solution with a pH of greater than 7. Since pH refers exclusively to aqueous solutions, it doesn't make sense to talk about the pH of a non-soluble base.

Similarly, there is one famous 19th Century opera pairing, even though almost every opera in existence was a collaboration between a composer and a librettist.

	DavidR - If it's "famous" twosomes, it seems a little out of place to put the internationally famous 'Music Box' duo against the niche-American 'Car Talk' duo... and with an obscure enough clue for the former that they are currently languishing at the bottom of the guessed-list! I guarantee that "Bowler-hatted English comedy double act" (or similar) would lift them up the list considerably. (I also agree that "ALKALI" should be acceptable, as should "POLYDEUCES".)

	It's a little saying that's goes "shave and a hair cut... two bits", [2 bits meaning 25 cents]. It goes with the rhythmed knocking or horn tooting duh duh du-duh duh... duh duh, often done as a beckon/reply thing, with one doing the beginning part [shave and a hair cut] and the other doing the end part [two bits]. Not that that makes any sense to anyone who doesn't know "shave & a hair cut" already, but it's the best I could do. ;-)
