This is a good quiz. Kind of hard, because some of the people come from WAY out in left field, but I enjoyed reading the quotes.

I know it's a silly thing, but every time I see the word "quote" used as a noun, I shudder a little. Is it so hard for people to say and write "quotation"? Not a criticism of the quiz-- rather, a sad observation about a grammatical trend.

No Patrick Henry "Give me liberty or give me death!"? No FDR "There is nothing to fear but fear itself"? No JFK "Ask not what your country can do for you, but what you can do for your country"? This quiz fails.

Should have known the import one...I tried Yogi Berra and it didn't work, and the answer was the logical next step.

I definitely had never heard of the most gotten quote, but obviously, my first guess was right. My personal favorite is the Groucho Marx quote, though I do also LOVE that Homer Simpson got one.

That was fun and really obscure, well that's what made it fun. Did Genghis Khan really say that?! There are so many good Yogi Berra quotes you could add (When you come to a fork in the road, take it, is an excellent compilation)

I wouldn't have been able to spell Nietzsche even if I'd known it was his quotation!

I found it very annoying that it wouldn't accept 'George Bush' as an answer. Surely using someone's middle initial shouldn't be necessary.

I got the homer one for sure but i stopped after bush's quote because i couldn't stop laughing at that one!!!
Jul 11th, 2009 at 13:52 GMT
I found it annoying that it wouldn't accept George W Bush - apparently it required a full stop after the W. That is just ridiculous. And by the way to the rest of the world he is just George Bush.

I thought the quote attributed to Twain was made by Patton. Am I wrong or am I confusing that quote (shudder a little more Megan) with another quote made by Patton?

homer's not real, so it's hard to call that history

Loved this quiz, especially the Homer Simpson and Winston Churchil quotes.
Dec 8th, 2009 at 13:40 GMT
Is it worrying that the only one I got was the Homer Simpson one?

the size of the dog quote should have taken "Michael Vick".

oh Georgie poo.

The Bush quote isn't true. Hard to call it history is you're just making it up.

@Brock_Sampson: Actually, you can find the audio here: http://www.pbs.org/newshour/bb/politics/july-dec00/trans_12-18.htm

@countingstars: Nope. It's been edited to a new Bush quote to hide their mistake. The original on this quiz was, "More of our imports come from outside the country." Bush never said that.

The USA needs another Mark Twain , Benjamin Franklin and maybe even another Groucho Marx -alas they come around only the once .
Oct 14th, 2011 at 18:21 GMT
@anne There were two george bush's. That's why the middle initial was needed. Also, if you just typed in bush, it should have worked

xdmanman, no apostrophe needed for the plural. (bushes, not bush's)

I only got the Napoleon and the Nathan Hale ones. I should have gotten the Gandhi one.
