| @Mish: As far as light goes, red, green, and blue are the primary colors. When you mix green and red light, you get yellow light. Try it sometime ;)
The primary colors on the color wheel (usually only good for paint, as mentioned above) are red, yellow, and blue. The primary colors for pigments (used in printing) are cyan, yellow, and magenta. The primary colors for LIGHT (arguably the most important) are red, green, and blue.
