I'm Scottish and got them all. A very black day in my country so of course we know the team. Seriously though, a great team with 3 all-time greats in Banks, Moore and Bobby Charlton.

Could Jackie + surname be accepted to for the appropriate answer please? And how's about an additional ghost bonus answer for the trainer seeing as the manager's also listed?

@Monoclinic: They could accept Jackie Surname but why were you typing first names in the first place? In almost all quizzes, surnames are acceptable on their own — typing the first name means that you lose an answer if you spell it wrongly or use an alternative that isn't accepted and you can never pick up freebies because you thought John Smith was in the team but it turns out that a completely different Smith was.

Great Quiz. How about an Italy 2006 World Cup Squad Quiz next?

I defy anyone who was born in '79, never lived in the UK, and pitifully knows little about football to even get one....yeah...I got nothing.

As a Yank, I'd like to complain that this is a very Anglocentric quiz. But I still got 6.

@isaac - Considering that most sports quizzes on here are American-centric (?), I'm happy to see this.

@Mr. Orange: He was joking because on every single American-centric quiz someone complains that it's just that. He doesn't really want to complain, he's just being ironic.

Yeah, fair enough. It's harder to tell when you're reading it and not hearing it =D. Anyways, got 10, was annoyed I didn't get no. 16, being a big football fan.

@Mr. Orange: Actually, complaints about American bias in American football/basketball/baseball/ice hockey quizzes are fairly rare. The complaints come in when a quiz that sounds like it's culturally-neutral from the title turns out to be impossible for anyone outside the US.

@davidr: I didn't mention anything about complaints on American-centric quizzes, I just said that there are many such quizzes. Was that supposed to be aimed at ElDavo instead?

I'm only 15 and live in America & I still got Bobby Charlton, who hasn't heard of him? Also got Moore and Stiles.

@Mr Badman Browne - I agree the whole squad would be much more challenging. For me I would say only the colours of the Rainbow & the members of the Monty Python team are easier than this.

Possibly should change the title to winning team, since the actual squad was twice this size. Good quiz though. Would like to see similar for all the World Cup winning squads.

@Paul: What, even Uruguay 1930? (A competition in which, by the way, the USA reached the semi-final, where they lost 6-1 to Argentina.)

1930 would be tricky ;-) I was thinking of Monti but on checking he lost that year with Argentina before winning in 1934 with Italy!

This is the TEAM not the SQUAD. The other squad members were : 8 Greaves - 11 Connelly - 12 Springett - 13 Bonetti - 14 Armfield - 15 Byrne - 17 Flowers - 18 Hunter - 19 Paine - 20 Callaghan - 22 Eastham

I was going to mention Jimmy Greaves, he was definately in the squad as theres a famous picture of him looking on as Hurst scored in the final.

Got 10 first time of trying, I don't think I would ever of thought of Roger Hunt though - the one I missed (probably because he played for Liverpool...go figure). (I support Everton!)

DERedcoat: That'll be Number 2 then. It should either be the full squad, or a couple of minutes less time. I can't believe there aren't any Englishmen who can't recite the eleven names.

I got all 11 but was annoyed to find that I'd missed a "bonus answer" I assume if I'd typed in Ramsey I'd have got the bonus but he wasn't in the team.

Got ten. Missed off Ray Wilson and to my shame almost forgot the captain Bobby Moore until about 30 seconds left. Good quiz.
