| @Chris- 4 final fours, actually. It's extremely hard to argue that Laettner wasn't the best NCAA tournament player ever, but best ever in all of college basketball is a stretch when you put him up against guys like Pete Maravich, Lew Alcindor, Bill Walton, David Thompson, and Tim Duncan. But yes, Laettner was the best where it counted most. I always find it funny how he's considered a huge flop in the NBA, when today, no one would even expect him to do well. And he DID do well enough to make an all-star game and I believe he still leads the T-Wolves in a few all-time statistical categories to this day. A lanky, 6-11 white center? His ability to hit the long-range shot would give him a LITTLE clout, but he'd be projected as a late first-rounder. A lot of people are writing Tyler Hansbrough off as an NBA power forward already, and he's more physically dominant than Laettner ever was. |
