Those aren't novels. Neither are the "Meaning of Liff" books.

Good quiz, although it interferes with my efforts to pretend "Mostly Harmless" was never written.

Wasn't Young Zaphod Plays it Safe another one of his books?

@Chaz: That one's a short story. It's included in the single-book version of the Hitchhiker's series. I'm not sure if it was ever published in anything else.

he also wrote Last Chance to See, about taking a trip to see endangered animals, such as Kakapos.

@Kate: "Starship Titanic" was written by Terry Jones (in the nude according to him) and "Last Chance to See" was Non-Fiction and therefore not a novel

Man, I missed the non-hitchhiker books.

Should be "Douglas Adams books"--they could put in Last Chance to See, Meaning of Liff (and Deeper Meaning of Liff), and Salmon of Doubt. Starship Titanic might qualify, as not only was the whole thing based off a Guide entry but also the book came from the computer game Adams was developing at the time.

I do agree with Wackd, they should include all his books. @maniacalclown: Young Zaphon Plays It Safe was, I believe first published in the The Utterly Utterly Merry Comic Relief Christmas Book, but I could be wrong.

Good quiz for some good books. @eln77: I liked Mostly Harmless. I don't see how you're saying it was worse than "So Long and Thanks For All the Fish"

How in the blue hell did I remember Salmon of Doubt and Long Dark Teatime of the Soul and forget Life, The Universe, and Everything?

Some of these have to be read aloud in a British accent to get the full effect.

No, the other end of the universe! Finished the Salmon of Doubt not too long ago- well, as much as he wrote- and I felt his loss anew. Loved the Hitchhiker series and Dirk Gently series. Wish he could've been around to write a script for more movies. Douglas, you are sorely missed.
