By the way, if you think this quiz is tough now, my original thought was to just give the year of the film. I'm glad I decided to include the winners too.

@rockgolf, would've been near impossible without actors, but as is I think it's the perfect amount of difficulty. Wasn't expecting to get them all, and I didn't, by a large margin, but still a lot of fun. Good quiz!

Judi Dench, not Judy. Sounds pedantic, but bet she hates it.

I'm learning to keep in mind the classic piece of puzzle-writing advice: A puzzle is always more difficult to solve than you think it is.

Can't believe I forgot Ben-Hur. I was too flummoxed by the idea of Charlton Heston winning a best actor Oscar, I guess.

@starfish: Hey, is it just me or does Howard Beale, Peter Finch's character in Network remind you Glenn Beck?

Her name is Patricia Neal. I only missed the '44 and '77 movies. I really like this quiz as well as any quiz that forces you to remember the classics.

@rockgolf: Honestly, I just rented Network a few days ago because Beale reminds me so much of Beck, and it makes me smile so much more when it's fictional and not actually happening on this planet.

Any Oscar quiz is welcome by me. In addition to getting them all, I've seen most of these. It Happened One Night, Cuckoo's Nest, Network, Coming Home, On Golden Pond, The Silence of the Lambs, and As Good as it Gets are the only films to win for both of its Lead actors, by the way.

I got them all back to 1987, then it was interesting to see the gaps between my correct answers get bigger and bigger as time went further back. Guess I'm not good a classic cinema.

Great, great quiz. But yowsers, so hard. I only got 16, and half were among the nine films released since I was born (missed "Shakespeare in Love"). Of course, being someone who often makes hard quizzes, the difficulty was A-OK with me.

Network is unique in that none of the Oscar winners have a single scene together! The closest is when Dunaway's character watches Finch's on a TV screen.
