| I agree with Sparky, UK would have been a more logical shorthand. However I'm guessing they took England for artistic licence, UK doesn't really sound like the name of a powerful nation. England has connotations to the past, when England was relatively powerful. I'm not condoning their use of it though. It pains me to type in Clyde and Edinburgh. Technically, pre-WWI, Wales was part of England, the national status of Wales has increased since then, Cardiff was declared capital of Wales in the 1950s and the border with England was officiated in the 1960's. Despite the Scottish discrepancy, the quiz is accurate and correct, as far as I'm aware, since it's based on a game, not real life. |
