It's spelt Dalmatian. Not Dalmation.

Democratic Republic of the Congo should be on here. And who is Dunder? I think that is supposed to be Donner. Otherwise good quiz and looking forward to the E quiz. Maybe you can have some blend together, like Qu quiz or the XYZ quiz.

"Dnepr" and "Dnestr" should be accepted for "Dnieper" and "Dniester" - those are the Russian names and were, until recently, the most common spellings in English as well.

Geo: Your first two points are correct, but I'm pretty sure there are enough X, Y, and Z words that they can be independent of one another.

Dunder is actually what Donner is called in the first known version. It means Thunder.

What language is Dunder? In modern German, Thunder is Donner.

15 of 36 the first time out...I love this theme! Are we going to get one for every letter of the alphabet eventually? Definitely a deliciously distracting diversion.

Dunder is Dutch. And German for Thunder used to be Donder many years ago.

I think it's lame that we have to type out "Democratic Republic of the Congo" on every country quiz, but it doesn't count here.

You should definitely put Democratic People's Republic of Korea as a bonus -- that's the official name of North Korea.

For those wondering about the third reindeer, see the comments in the Santa's Reindeer quiz. In the original poem, it was Dunder; later translations and mispronunciations brought about Donder and Donner as variations. Similarly, Blitzen was originally Blixem.

Sporcle should really clarify its policy on country names for quizzes like these. The majority of countries have official names that differ from their common names: Federal Republic of Germany, Islamic Republic of Iran, Commonwealth of Australia. While it is clear that 'Democratic Republic of the Congo' was named as such to differ from its similarly named neighbor, some clarification is needed on when official names and when common names are to be used in these quizzes.

Does the DRC have a common name, though (beyond those initials)? I think Sporcle takes common names pretty universally.

Every time I type in "DRC," it works on any quiz. And, Kevin, no it doesn't, unless you count "DR Congo."

The DRC is alphabetically first on the list, not last. I thought the German was Donder? Was a bit disappointed to not see World Capitals, but fun quiz. I love these letter games.

If DRC counts than surely Democratic People's Republic of Korea should at least merit a bonus?

DPRK is possibly the most misleading name ever. It is not democratic, it is not ruled in the interests of the people, most of whom are starving, the 'Dear Leader' has monarchial powers which were inherited and he will probably pass to his son, and it only covers half of Korea. Other than that, add it as a bonus.

Most difficult letter quiz so far - as a chemist I should have got at least one of the elements, oops! Also I only managed to spell Dachshund because it was on another quiz recently, thankfully that saved me a bit of time!
