@Segnbora: I realize that the Hardy & Drew authors were pseudonyms, but that's the name on the book and what most people know. One of the major Hardy Boys writers was a Canadian, Leslie McFarlane, who got paid a grand sum of $85 per book, with no royalties.
Canadians may know his son, Brian McFarlane, a commentator on Hockey Night In Canada.
But both series are rewritten regularly to stay current (and possibly for copyright reasons), and who knows who does the updates. Sometimes, all that's kept is the title. |
