This one should separate the men/women from the boys/girls--getting Italy, Australia, and Mexico is elementary stuff, but to any of you who get Zambia and Jamaica, I salute you.

YES! This is the quiz I've been waiting for! Love it!

This should be one of those where you have to enter the answers in the specific spaces.

love these type of quizzes, the lack of a consistency in the scale makes it tougher, but I want more of these quizzes ;)

Interesting geography quiz. I hope there will be a sequel! (I wonder how many would miss USA if it were there.)

Of course, Italy was the first I got. If I remember one thing from school, it's that Italy is the one shaped like a boot.

It's quizzes like this that make me love Sporcle with a passion that is usually reserved for living entities. O Sporcle, where would I be without the .com that rests at the top of my bookmark list? Well, I would probably be in bed. But regardless of the fact that I just answered my own rhetorical question, I love this quiz and I love Sporcle. Here's to many sequels.

Not particularly hard, but I agree with Foghorn's suggestion. The lack of scale makes it more difficult definitely

I agree with the prior posts, the small countries zoomed in are very difficult to recognize. Great quiz though

Liked the quiz, was a decent mix of obvious countries (Mexico, Italy, Cuba) and the ones that were a bit more difficult (Zambia). I'd love to see a sequel.

@Foghorn: Agreed! Otherwise this is just another generic 'guess as many countries as you can' quiz. Very fun idea!

@SOAR: How exactly did you finish in 30 secs, when it took you 30 secs to think of Jamaica?

It took me only 49 seconds to finish, and that was largely due to overenthusiastic typing (i.e., correcting a bunch of typos). I really enjoyed these but I expected the quiz to determine how to enter the countries.

I agree with Foghorn - either only allow answers in specific spaces, or reduce the time allowed. I got most of them in the first minute or so and then spent the rest of the time entering random countries.

I got 18 and found Zambia to be one of the easier ones. It has a very unique form no other country has. Back when I memorised the countries of Africa I reminded myself that this shrimp-like shape is Zambia.

Thank you Geo Expert facebook application! I was never going to get Jamaica or Zambia so I gave up. I though Jamaica was a Central European country but I at least knew Zambia was African.

IMHO, this test might have been better (and challenging) if it was to be guessed in order, just like the flag tests. The sequels might be continent based, or even perhaps a "Outlines of World Countries" test involving all of them. That would be the biggest geography challenge this site could ever see.

Oh god, I've browsed my atlas way too often... Imo there should be a sequel sometime with some of the really small countries to make it more challenging. (I hope Tuvalu will be in it)

HOW is everyone so good at the geography quizzes?? granted, I've just started learning about the various countries of the world (sporcle is an amazing educational tool), but every time I look at the mass results of any geography quiz I feel incredibly mediocre.

@onno: you're just saying that because you now know what the outline of tuvalu looks like and want a strategic advantage over those of us who can't discern it from the outline of tonga! :)

@tamazin: you have to consider that a lot of people play these quizzes many times. once you've played the "countries of [insert continent here]"-quizzes a few times you just _know_ what the outlines for a lot of countries look like ...

@ared: No ared, dont tell those fairy tales. It is commenly known that we all have geographical superpowers. If new people want those superpowers the have to take part in some certain rituals ;)
