Thank you, Raiders and Athletics, for having a stadium name that enabled me to boost up to ten.

I like these quizzes, but it would be better if there was a map.

I got most of the ones that are named after cities. Yay. Surprised, though, that there's not an "Ocean" or "Oceanside" or something like that.

Even vacationing in California--twice---didn't help get more than 13. County names aren't something you think about much as a tourist. Fun quiz anyhow.

By dint of being a native Californian, taking the quiz twice (which I consider kind of cheating) and the fact that the answers were in alpha order, I managed 37/58. I'm not sure how a non-native could do decently - I think fully 90% of CA counties are hick places no one has ever heard of. Thinking of saints and places where they grow pot might help a bit, though.

I knew that getting pulled over for speeding in Yreka would pay off someday. I even spelled the name of the county correctly the first time around. 19/58 - not bad for a New Englander.

16/58... plus 2 I couldn't figure out how to spell (not unusual for me), then an additional 11 I slapped my forehead when I saw. Not bad for a Midwesterner.

Hey, cool, this got posted. I don't know why I made this- I'm from Jersey, after all- but it seemed like a good idea. I hope everybody has fun. Personally... I got ten. And I actually tried "San Andreas", hoping it was real.

16/58, never lived in nor visited California. I probably got half of my total from knowledge of beer, wine, and other stuff.

55/58. Live in Irvine, CA and am a big road tripper/have a huge Vietnamese family across the Golden State. Missed Colusa, Glenn and for some reason spaced on Contra Costa even though it's got a million people. Props to Cali for keeping its city and county names the same. I probably couldn't name more than 5 counties outside California.

I live in San Diego so I immediately got all the counties within a few hours away, but then I realized how very few counties of Northern California I know about.

Got em all too. The ones that take more time to remember are the ones located in the mountains. The southern counties are larger and easier to locate which makes them the first to be answered.

Maybe we might see Georgia counties soon, seeing as Georgia has more counties than any other state beside Texas.

Biggest help for me, outside of living in the bay area, was watching wildfire news over the years. They always give locations by county (or National Forest, which have the same names). Apparently little burns along northern I-5.

Legally, San Francisco is not a county or a city, it is a "City and County," which is legally different from a "city" or a "county."

I missed 13 counties (I kept misspelling Tuolumne). When I took the counties of Ireland quiz, I missed 5. This is embarrassing because 1.) I have lived in California my whole life, 2.) I have never been to Ireland and 3.) I am 0% Irish.

I think this quiz is a lot harder if you're a Southern Californian (like me) than a Northern Californian.
