@ Ben, There are a couple of errors. I typed in Arizona St., but it didn't give me 1967 and 1969. I typed in Cal State Fullerton, but it did not give me 1984. Good quiz though, I had 52 out of 62, should have been 55 if it gave me thoe three that I mentioned.

I'm pretty sure I entered Miami and Cal both, which are the most logical guesses for both of those schools, and did not get credit. Those misses aside, I got all but the two least guessed.

yeah entering Miami should be acceptable...we shouldnt have to enter the (FL). Also, i didnt get the 1984 Cal St Fullerton for some reason. @matthew, i believe you have to type in California for Cal

University of Miami does not work either. Did not think of adding a "(FL)"

I know little-to-nothing about college baseball, but this was made much easier because it gives you the runner-up. I only knew (for sure) three or four schools, but then I just guessed all the runners-up... and then, when they worked, I guessed the teams that lost to them, and so on. Between that and guessing every state (and somehow thinking to guess Pepperdine), I got 59 (and one of the three I missed was last year's champ).

There's no reason to have to add (FL) to Miami. It's not as if Miami (OH) is also on the list.

"Miami" still doesn't give you 2001.

If you want to differentiate between the two Miamis, "University of Miami" should be accepted for Miami(FL) because Miami(OH) is known as "Miami University."

All I knew was that California and Arizona are really good at baseball since half of my favorite players are from those states, and I just worked out the rest from there with the runner ups.

Oh, and this gets easier when you realize that four of the eight teams in this year's CWS have combined for 20 championships. It'll be 21 in a couple of days.

you can just put the University of Texas Longhorns as the 2009 CWS champions, it will happen in a few days anyway!

i don't think that you should automatically get the runner-ups for getting the winner. it makes it too easy b/c most of the runner-ups have won at some point.

This quiz is way too easy since you don't have to put the answers in order and the runner ups are given, which gives you a lot more free answers. I only knew the two Oregon St. ones before taking this, but I still got 53 by guessing random colleges and using the runner ups.

Cool quiz! It would also be neat to list some college players with their teams. Maybe the CWS MVP (if they aren't too obscure), or the year, college, and MLB team they broke in with, since there would be too many possible answers for some teams.

An interesting topic and quiz, but I agree with everyone that listing the runners-up makes it easier than it should be. My approach to this one was similar to the Oscar host quiz--guess a couple of obvious ones, which then lead to more and more answers (co-hosts or runners-up) until almost the entire quiz is filled in.

Neat quiz. Missed 1952 and, believe it or not, last year. I was surprised Florida State never won.

Great quiz, I'd love to see how Northern teams would do if they were able to play/practice 12 months a year, Southern teams have such an advantage.

@Bryant: They'd do better. But you don't hear Southern schools complaining how they can't win in ice hockey. It's just the way it is. Some geographic areas will have a natural competitive advantage in certain sports. It's not unjust or unfair, it's just life.

@Ernest - being that only one southern school competes in ice hockey, they won't complain. @Bryant - you are 100 percent wrong. The NCAA regulates when teams can practice, and no schools are practicing between October and the middle of January at all under NCAA rules.

Got 56/62...would have been four more, but neither Fullerton nor UC Fullerton worked...I guess I should have kept trying instead of just assuming that meant they weren't on the list.

Isn't it time you had a non-American sports quiz now? Come on let's have more quizzes on the world's most popular sports - i.e. non-American sports.

Not to sound like a broken record, but the runner ups need to go. Someone starting with USC and then just guessing losing teams would get a 40, and anyone starting with Minnesota, Cal State Fullerton, or Pepperdine would get a 43, 44, or 45 respectively.

@bsd987, no, you just don't know how baseball players develop. Most of the players that play for the Southern schools are from the south, meaning their whole lives, they've gotten to play year round, unlike Northerners who can only practice from March-October. And whoever said the hockey excuse, since when is hockey played outdoors (not counting the Winter Classic)??
