@faxman: Don't feel too bad about it. I blank on 1867-2008.

The 1891 to 1911 PMs are easy to remember if you know the "Canada's Loser Prime Ministers" song by Three Dead Trolls in a Baggie. ;)

I only knew the one (1984-1993), and that's because of How I Met Your Mother, sadly.

When I was in school, they never made us memorize these people, but I knew them up to 1967 because of a very snazzy cardboard Centenary plaque (issued, I believe, as a mail-in premium by the makers of Beehive Corn Syrup). I wish I knew where that thing went, it might be worth something. Of course, I remember the ones since them by growing up through them, but now those "Loser Prime Ministers" (except the guy on the $5 bill) are a little fuzzy in my memory.

I am ashamed that as a USAmerican who has traveled to Canada numerous times that I never score more than 5 on this quiz, I'm certain that almost all Canadians can do the reverse... my apologies for our ignorance, tis not bliss

This quiz should accept "Mackenzie King" as an answer, as he was never referred to as just "King", and typing "William Lyon Mackenzie King" longhand is annoying.

Darn, I guessed Bowles instead of Bowell for some reason. He's the only one I missed.

@lewistpb...I did the same thing.

I always remember 1948-1957 because of a Simpsons episode.

I know all of 50 US states & their capitals. I also know all the 44 US presidents in order and most of vice presidents but I don't know the Canadian PMs. Very Sad...And I'm a Canadian!

Apr 13th, 2010 at 15:16 GMT
Bof! I only missed Bowell and that's because I mispelt it. It did take me a while to finally get Meghen, Mighen, Meighen but I got there in the end :)
May 8th, 2010 at 04:50 GMT
@lewistpb...Bowles is Lester B Pearson's middle initial..that might be why you got the two confused

Mr. BlueValleyBball, if that's the case, why bother to make your comment? :)

Only missed 3, and they were all Tories, so who cares? (JK to Tory sporclers...the three of you who know how to use a computer)

Took me forever to remember Martin.....his reign wasn't very eventful.

Wow...I'm a pretty educated American, but the only Canadian PM I can name is Jean-Paul Chretien, and only because he appeared with Bush a lot around 9/11 in support, and because he had a weird voice.

How is Sir John A. MacDonald 1878-1891 more guessed then his 1867-1873 term?
Oct 4th, 2011 at 22:32 GMT
1984- Always kills me.... maybe because his term was so short...

@ZeppoMarxist: "Young lady, I don't approve."

Damn all but Thompson and Bowell.

Macleans magazine's take on ranking them. Poor Kim Campbell gets no love as usual. http://www2.macleans.ca/2011/06/10/canadas-best-prime-ministers/
