Generally in German it is accepted if you just say the city name if you talk about the team; the only exception in the Bundesliga ist Bayern München, where you usually don't say München, but Bayern. Similarly it is totally okay to simply say Werder, Arminia, Hertha, Bayer, Eintracht or Energie. However, this is all minor compared to the mistake this quiz makes on Karlsruhe and Hamburg, because "Hamburger" and "Karlsruher" (these are city adjectives, meaning "from Hamburg" or "from Karlsruhe", just like probably have New Yorker or Bostonian) are not used in German to talk about the clubs, you either simply say Hamburg or Karlsruhe, or you say HSV or KSC. |
