Considering I make a good portion of my living playing these shows in San Francisco, it is really sad that I only got 19! I'd never even heard of 1976 and 1922. I was also shocked that Showboat wasn't on the list. Great quiz though.

GREAT quiz, Phil!!! Can't believe I didn't think of doing this one. I, too, am shocked at what wasn't on the list: Show Boat, Music Man, Guys & Dolls, etc. Anyway, terrifically fun and a brilliant idea!

I could've sworn that 1976 was off-broadway so I didn't even try it. 18 right. Great quiz!

Great quiz. I'm a total B'way dork and I only got 25/30. Missed some of the old plays and a few I should have known. How about a quiz for the Best Musical Tony winners?

Regarding 1976, a lot of people question whether the Edison Theater was a true Broadway house. It is the longest running Broadway revival, though the marquee over 1996 (#8) makes that claim, erroneously...at least until around 2012.

I am actually a little surprised no one has mentiuoned this yet, but you might want to consider making "Les Mis" and "Les Miz" acceptable answers for Les Miserables. Almost nobody calls that show the full name... everyone calls it "Les Miz"

I have a quibble with including "Chicago" in this list. As it says in the directions given above, "Revivals and re-runs are not counted toward performance totals". The original run began in 1975 and went about 1000 performances. The 1996 production was a revival, and it was this that went on for more than 5000 performances. I'm not trying to remove this wonderful show from the list, but perhaps the rules could be clarified for its inclusion.

That threw me a bit at first the way it was worded too. It's saying the revival run is not included in the original run, as in no cumulative performance totals are going to count if it has had more than one broadway run. So in the case of Chicago.. it ran 936 originally. The note was to show that Chicago has run 5012 shows... not 5,948 shows by including the original run. There are shows that would probably make the list if you ADDED their original run to the revival.

Got 24/30 ... not bad considering when I saw the names for 76/39/33/65/22/95 I'd never heard of any of them.

Maybe the exclamation marks shouldn't be necessary for certain titles? I know I missed a couple because of it.

21/30. I was very happy to see phantom of the opera at the top. Real happy to see wicked up there too.:) was sad that west side story did not make it.

I couldn't believe West Side Story didn't make the list. I looked it up - a mere 732 Broadway performances. Not even close. Phantom was obvious. I can't believe I missed Cats.
