Got the 11 largest. And nothing else. Before Sporcle, however, I probably would have gotten only three.

18/20, and I'm half Brazilian. Hard to know which Rio and Sao Paulo suburbs are largest - depends on the source.

Don't worry... even I that am Brazillian could not get the 20 =/ I got just 18... and I don't know São Gonçalo ^^ i've been waiting a lot for this quiz just to know what people abroad know about Brazil, and as I thought they usually know only Rio (the most beautiful city), Brasilia (the capital) and São Paulo (the most important city) Well, at least I can see that the World Cup and the Olympic games are helping to make you know more about this wonderful country ;] if you get 10 cities it's a really great number ^^

10/20 (all in the top 11) and I lived in Brazil for 2 years. Maybe if I hadn't spent almost the whole time in little tiny towns . . .

You'd think Ipanema would be larger what with all the tall and tan and young and lovely girls they have that go walking.

Great quiz 8D, but the right spellings are "Maceió" and "Brasília", not "Maceio" and "Brasilia".

uggh, I thought my Latin American Studies major would pay off here but still only got 12/20. I actually remembered smaller state capitals like Florianópolis and Cuiabá and then blanked on Fortaleza, Natal, and São Luís.

@vic_kun: Then that must apply to São Luís and São Paulo, right? But Sporcle is primarily an English-speaking site, and most of the quiz answers with accents are missing them. Surely you don't expect everyone answering to type in the accents? You might not have anyone come back to take another quiz about non-English speaking countries!

I'm Brazilian, nice quiz, but I just think some of those cities doesn't make a lot of sense...Sao Gonçalo, Nova Iguaçu...ok..important ones but where's Vitoria, Palmas, Florianopolis? Guarulhos? why? haha..I like Campinas, that's my city :)
