	Technically, it is called "I Do It for You." I do sympathize though, as I also originally thought it was called "Everything I Do." I would say "In the Club" should count for 2003, just for some of us white people. Fun quiz, though; a great idea.

	Actually, one more gripe: The Hot 100 started in '58, so why not start the quiz at '58. It'd be one thing if this was a chart that had existed for centuries, but why exclude the first THREE years?

	Damn, I thought the 1982 song was "Let's Get Physical." I kept guessing all her other songs when that didn't work. Says a lot about me that I know most of the old ones but not the newer ones.

	@Conio the list is based on highest selling singles from that particular year. If people kept buying the single by the truckloads years after it was released it WOULD win every year, but for reasons which I shouldn't have to explain obviously it didn't.

	I'm feeling a little old I got every song from 66 to 88 but missed half of those from the last 10 years! Would have got 1 more but didn't get the exact title of that darned Nickelback song. Still I think 40 is a good score for a Brit.

	Got all of them from 1961-1991. After that is when music stopped becoming any good. A depressing ammount of rappers and the Macarena shows how crap music is today. And in case you think i'm an old fart, i'm 19.

	@JohnJF...haha I agree! I put "In the club" and "Gangster's Paradise" and when they weren't accepted I just thought it must be some other song I hadn't heard of. I think they should be accepted! :)

	@ Geordie_Guitarist After 1991 music stopped being any good??? I guess you're too young to remember how absolutely dreadful most of the songs listed here from the 60s, 70s and 80s were. 'Careless Whisper, 'Physical', 'Tie A Yellow Ribbon ...', 'Sugar Sugar', 'Wooly Bully'. Appalling. Those last two, plus 'Hey Jude' and 'Macarena' suggest that the record buying public can barely even speak English!

	@Evan: I believe that it means it was #1 on the Billboard Hot 100 year-end chart, which tracks a mixture of sales & airplay (at least it does now, it may have been more sales-based a couple decades back). There were a few on here that just wouldn't pop into my head but I knew I'd be kicking myself as soon as time ran out.

	For the most part judging by the list Billboard Song Of The Year doesn't necessarily reflect quality just record sales. Most of these songs from all the generations are pretty dreadful. Maybe 10 could be classified as great and another 10 as listenable to but the rest belong in the trash bin.

	I'm surprised how badly people are doing over all. I only got like half, which apparently still places me in the top 5% or so. I'd say that perhaps this shows how disposable many of these songs are -- huge sellers at one time that now most of us can't even remember. But I dig the Beatles and yet couldn't even come up with either of their songs. ... I, too, never heard of Daniel Powter.

	Surprised not to see Umbrella on here... I'm not a massive fan but I know certainly in the UK it was by far and away the biggest selling single whichever year it was from.

	@ Nuclear - I agree about being disposable. A lot of these were novelty songs, like Macarena, Wooly Bully, Walk Like an Egyptian. Even then people knew they were stupid but they were fun little fads that often had dances that went with them. "Sugar Sugar" was used as a promotional song for Super Sugar Crisp, and was tied in with the comic strip/TV show "The Archies." It wasn't even a real band. I didn't even buy my copy - it was a cardboard cutout on the back of a cereal box.

	Careless Whisper is by George Michael on his own, not Wham! Even though he was still a part of Wham! at the time. Bizarrely, Andrew Ridgeley co-wrote Careless Whisper but never co-wrote a single Wham! song.

	Yes, Debbie, I've always found it ironic that in 1969, supposedly the creative peak of rock/pop music, the most popular song was a contrived piece of bubblegum by a fake band. Oh yes, the music-listening public was so much more sophisticated then!

	I know it was credited as Wham and George Michael in the US but I was just saying that the original version of the song is only a George Michael song. Andrew Ridgeley doesn't perform on the track at all. And before anyone says anything, yes he did perform on the other Wham" songs. Well, he had a guitar anyway. I'm sorry Andrew, I still love you.

	i also kept writing LET'S GET physical...how annoying. That Beyonce answer was bizarre, it's so recent but it didn't even occur to me...I think I typed in every other song she's ever recorded. Judging by the percentages, most people didn't get it tho.

	@Joe Ball: What are you talking about? Rihanna featuring Jay-Z - Umbrella in the UK was second by some distance in total sales (about 200,000 behind). Leona Lewis - Bleeding Love was the year-end #1.

	@John-I have listened to more than just 4 songs-they are the only 4 that I can really remember the names of fairly easily. Never have been a beatles fn, but I know alot of people are. I would, as an earlier poster put it, put their music on the level of Wooly Bully or Sugar Sugar. I understand what they have meant to some people, but I find their music uninteresting and just flat out bad. JMO, and it's not a majority one it's definetly minority. If I wanted to torture myself, then I would listen to more Beatles music, but I don't.
