If you don't care about sports then don't click on the sports quizzes. There's lots of quizzes that aren't about sports.

Finished in 25 seconds. Would have been better if it included starting rotation as well.

I am so happy to see this quiz. Now if the Reds of today could be close to as good as the reds of yesteryear.

I like this quiz. Including more of the roster would be great. Quizzes for other famous baseball teams would be fun as well: 1927 Yankees or the 1973-75 A's an so on.

I love sporcle quizzes that I get 100% on. I got the first 7 answers as fast as I could type them then looked up and was missing 1b and put Dreissen, then changed the spelling, panicked when it didnt come up and then said oh yeah Eduardo Perez's father

What a team ... three HOFers (Bench, Morgan and Perez), one that should be in the HOF (Concepcion), another that would be in the HOF if he wasn't a complete moron (Rose) and another who hit 52 home runs in 1977 (Foster). Griffey wasn't a slouch either, and Geronimo was an excellent defensive CF.

Nice quiz. It would be great to see some of the pitchers as bonus answers at least. They had an amazing team ERA of 3.51 that year.

For some reason, I always want to list Tug McGraw as a member of the Reds, but I don't know why. I don't think that's 76 though.

@ Nuclear Knuckles: You are wrong. The Reds had the 5th best team ERA in the league that year, and Gullett, one of their best pitchers if not their best, was injured for much of the year.

Sorry Cocky, I was making a joke when I said it but in reality I wasn't even a year old at the beginning of the 1976 season,so you have every right to feel old :).........League avg ERA in 1976 was 3.50 so technically they were worse than league average by a whole .01

Heres an amazing thing to realize. Eventhough this is the lineup everyone remembers that year and all 8 of them played in at least 135 games, they were all in the lineup together just 42 times. Basically if you watched a game that year you had a 1 in 4 chance of seeing all 8 of them at once

For the people telling me there are other categories on Sporcle: yes, that's true. But the new quizzes being made and distributed each day are OVERWHELMINGLY about sports, disproportionate to any other category, so don't tell me I'm being unfair. I bet if there were movie quizzes every day, overwhelming any other category, you'd get a lot of complaints. Truth is, there needs to be a greater variety each day.

Great quiz, and great team. Yeah the pitching over the course of the season was league average, but the top of their rotation and bullpen were terrific. That's more important in the postseason than anything. Also... Seriously dude? You're going on a quiz you have no interest in to complain that its not about a subject you care about? On a website that provides a lot of entertainment entirely without charge? 8 of the 33 new quizzes are on the front page are about sports. So I suppose you have a point about them being overwhelmingly about sports, so long as we ignore the definition of overwhelm.

Booger, please clarify what I said was wrong. If you think 5th best out of 12 is "amazing," you must want to give everyone an MVP award just for showing up.

MovieDynamic: From what I understand, Sporcle originated as a sports-related website. And most of the time, there's only one sports quiz made each day (usually out of 4 or 5). Whether you like it or not, sports are a huge part of today's culture, not just in America, but across the world. And if it bothers you that much, then you don't have to go to Sporcle.

Got seven of them right away. Had no idea who the CF was, though, so I basically just started entering in random names until time ran out.

This was a pretty good team, but I maintain that top to bottom, the 1995 indians were the best offensive club ever: c-Sandy Alomar, 1B-Eddie Murray, 2B-Carlos Baerga, 3B-Jim Thome, SS-Omar Vizquel, LF-Albert Belle, CF-Kenny Lofton, RF-Manny Ramirez
