Where's bogey flavored?!?
Jul 15th, 2009 at 17:06 GMT
Wow I am never eating these! I can do without the taste of diesel, caterpillar, rotten egg and vomit in my sweets thanks
Jul 15th, 2009 at 17:08 GMT
I think I would be safe with a nice toffee. Ah, alas, earwax.
Jul 15th, 2009 at 17:09 GMT
8 minutes does not seem like a lot of time for this.

what a terrible quiz
Jul 15th, 2009 at 17:24 GMT
It's nice to see my favorite Harry Potter website mentioned on my favorite Quiz/Trivia website. That being said, this was a fun quiz!
Jul 15th, 2009 at 17:32 GMT
@andyisastar - I think that one would fall under "mucous." That being said, I wish it would take bogey or booger, since that's what I remembered from the books.
Jul 15th, 2009 at 17:33 GMT
Wow! I never knew there were so many of them! I tried several "normal" flavours which didn't come up. J.K. Rowling is brilliant for coming up with all of these flavors. I'll definitely try and remember more of these flavors. Thanks Sporcle! A fun quiz to tackle when we wait for the new movie!
Jul 15th, 2009 at 18:13 GMT
If you accept "gas" for "petrol," you should also accept "cotton candy" for "candy floss"-- they're both just the North American equivalents.
Jul 15th, 2009 at 18:19 GMT
Great quiz. What about a quiz where you would have to name the horcrux, the person killed to make it, and where it was hidden?
Jul 15th, 2009 at 18:27 GMT
In addition to the comments of some that "Bogey" should be OK for "mucous", "snot" and "mucus" should also have been acceptable.
Jul 15th, 2009 at 18:31 GMT
there were multiple answers i didnt type as plural, i think they should pop up in their singular form
Jul 15th, 2009 at 18:53 GMT
You'd think earwax would be the number one guessed, considering the famous Dumbeldore quote jesus brought up.
Jul 15th, 2009 at 18:56 GMT
I think mint should be acceptable for peppermint. Also, peanut could probably be safely accepted for peanutS. I was also close on a couple others, although I can understand why it wasn't accepted. Such as 'beans' instead of baked beans
Jul 15th, 2009 at 19:14 GMT
Dang, I can't believe I missed tripe. (wtf is tripe)
Jul 15th, 2009 at 19:22 GMT
tripe is a meal usually made with stomach parts I wonder what bean andrew zimmerman would like
Jul 15th, 2009 at 19:24 GMT
"Gum" should be enough for "chewing gum," as should "peanut" for "peanuts" as mentioned above.
Jul 15th, 2009 at 19:34 GMT
what is worse the Jelly Belly candy people came out with boxes of many of these flavors and many of them can really make you sick!! My guy loves Harry Potter but even 'dirt' got to him!
Jul 15th, 2009 at 19:35 GMT
Tripe is the lining of a cow's stomach, many people find it good tasting my Dad loved the stuff.. if you want to know how it tastes find Campbell's Pepper Pot Soup, it has tripe in it.
Jul 15th, 2009 at 19:56 GMT
hahaha this was fun. some of them i typed out of the blue assuming they wouldn't really be answers, but then they actually were. like, what's paper supposed to taste like?
Jul 15th, 2009 at 20:10 GMT
@mathias1979: Mint & Peppermint are separate answers (and flavours!) Also, there are several "beans" on the list: kidney, lima, fried. ...and more people picked "vomit" than "chocolate"?!? Hey, Ben & Jerry, have I got an idea for you!
Jul 15th, 2009 at 20:20 GMT
I've seen earthworm ones before. Also why isn't cotton candy accepted for candy floss? Candy floss is just cotton candy in the UK.
Jul 15th, 2009 at 20:25 GMT
I've had these before and it is seriously difficult to consume the vomit ones, they're absolutely disgusting.
Jul 15th, 2009 at 21:01 GMT
@rockgolf ... mint isnt on there seperately. I also agree peanut should do for peanuts. Such a good quiz!
Jul 15th, 2009 at 22:10 GMT
Everything I rejected putting down as too disgusting was actually on there.
Jul 15th, 2009 at 22:16 GMT
@papercrab: Same here... Wow, I never knew there were so may flavors. I found myself thinking about what was in my pantry and, what do you know, they're all there.
Jul 15th, 2009 at 22:31 GMT
I got 5. Cherry, Lime, Lemon, Mango...and go figure...Mucous. Though I typed booger. Sadly, that was the only one I knew for sure.
Jul 15th, 2009 at 22:36 GMT
@papercrab: After I ran out of the ones I remembered from the books, I just guessed based on two criteria: flavors pretty much every brand includes, and flavors no sane brand would consider including.
Jul 15th, 2009 at 23:37 GMT
"Can you name the flavors of Bertie Bott's flavored Jelly Beans (inspired by Harry Potter)?" No, no I can't.
Jul 15th, 2009 at 23:58 GMT
Would it be unfair to assume anyone who got all of them was cheating at least a little? It seems to me it would, but people always complain, so I don't know. Is anyone actually able to get them all/
Jul 16th, 2009 at 00:24 GMT
The grass jelly beans are actually pretty good. The vomit ones...yeah, they're tough to eat. Dirt is difficult to digest as well.
Jul 16th, 2009 at 01:21 GMT
A little more time would be nice but this was a great quiz... fun to guess!
Jul 16th, 2009 at 01:29 GMT
Were all of these actually mentioned in the books?
Jul 16th, 2009 at 02:05 GMT
What's the difference between grass and wildgrass? They're both pretty grassy to me!
Jul 16th, 2009 at 02:18 GMT
In my opinion, sardine is the worst one. Dirt is not as bad as sardine, not even close. Vomit is disgusting though. I wish they (Jelly Belly) had included more Harry Potter themed ones. Like butterbeer or firewhiskey. Fizzing whizzbees and bloodpop.
Jul 16th, 2009 at 02:22 GMT
Yeah, the vomit ones were bad, but I couldn't stomach the sardine. That was a whole different level of nasty. MissDemeter is dead on.
Jul 16th, 2009 at 02:35 GMT
@kirnsey: nope! only a few, like bogey, tripe, spinach, liver...
Jul 16th, 2009 at 03:53 GMT
Jul 16th, 2009 at 04:44 GMT
I admit that vomit was the first one I entered.
Jul 16th, 2009 at 06:34 GMT
fairy floss should be accepted as an alternative to candy floss - that's what it's known as in Australia. Also, I believe mucous should be spelt 'mucus'
