This is stupid. Why can't we just name countries without having to go in a specific order?

reply to sean andrew owens: because the point of the quiz is to see if you remember what flag represents each country. If you just want to list each country, take the countries of asia quiz.

Sri Lanka and Bhutan have awesome flags. I wonder if Bahrain's flag glows in the dark.

Why are Turkey and Russia the only two countries that are in both the European Flag and Asian Flag categories?

Kyrsten: Because they have historic connections to both regions. Russia has a "European part" which relates vastly to Eastern Europe (former Eastern Bloc), while Turkey has connections to Greece and more importantly Cyprus.

Blackcrowned: They are not just historic connections. Russia still has territory in Europe. Also Moscow is actually in Europe. As for Turkey, Istanbul is the only city to straddle two continents so Turkey also straddles two continents

@Max Smiley: Istanbul isn't the only city to straddle continents. Atyrau and Oral (Kazakhstan) and Orenburg (Russia) are split between Europe and Asia and Suez, Ismaïlia and Port Said (Egypt) straddles the Africa-Asia border. If you take the North-South American border as the Panama Canal, Colón and Panama City are anso transcontinental.

This is harder than the European one, yet easier than the African one due to the flags being simply more distinctive. I got them all.

This is not the 1st quiz where a have black hole in that part of my brain where knowledge of Philippines' existence should be stored. I got the first 47 flags in about 4 and a half mins and then racked my brain for 3 more minutes... I did get it, but jeez.

Love all the flag ones!! I wonder if it would be possible to have a link to the other continents from this quiz (and all the flags-by-continent quizzes) like we have for the countries-by-continent quizzes?? I a bit of a geek who likes to do all the individual continents and then try the World one ...

This quiz really shows you what Sporcle does to people, because there is absolutely no bloody way over half the general population know what the flag of Turkmenistan looks like! In fact, I'd be surprised if half the general population even knows there is such a country!

definitely in Asia. DEFINITELY. A small part of it is technically in europe (including half of Istanbul), but about 90% of the country is solidly in Asia.
