	According to Bangkokpost.com and the guiness book of records the official name of Bangkok is: Krung Thep Mahanakhon Amon Rattanakosin Mahinthara Ayuthaya Mahadilok Phop Noppharat Ratchathani Burirom Udomratchaniwet Mahasathan Amon Piman Awatan Sathit Sakkathattiya Witsanukam Prasit. Making it the longest place name in the world. I can't find any sites which I feel I can trust which give the actual Thai name/pronunciation or relevent historical background but there are a few which support ed martin's claim. It would be good if someone could clarify whether Krung Thep should be a possible alternative for Bangkok or not. It is my understanding that Grung Tep is the pronunciation rather than the written translation. Corrections please.

	Hahahaha! That's true TEByham, I was bored. This time I'm not though. (congrats on learning them all!)@John2: Naypyidaw was founded in 2005 and the military junta moved the capital from Yangon over the next two years. If one accepts the change of name from Burma to Myanmar, then one also has to accept the move of capital city. I accept neither, the capital of Burma in my eyes is still Yangon, and will be unless the rightful ruler of that nation, Aung San Suu Kyi, and her government decide differently. For the time being, however, the military junta do have control over the country :( so my views, however supportive of the people of Burma's struggle, may be a little deluded. Burma is unfortunately, unjustly ruled from Naypyidaw.

	@Sam: I was trying Rangoon for Myanmar... is that an alternative spelling of Yangon? Learnt it many years ago and haven't kept up with all the changes in lots of places!

	Seriously, there are about a dozen ways to spell Ulaanbaatar, including Ulan Bator, Ulaan Bataar, Ulan Baatar, etc...this quiz is a bit ridiculous for only accepting one variation. I spent about a minute trying different variations!

	Admittedly Ulaanbaatar is more correct (closer to the original script) but Ulan Bator at least should be allowed, especially seeing as it is the title of the Wikipedia page that is linked in the 'Most Missed.'

	Ulaanbaatar may be more correct, but I learned it a long time ago as Ulan Bator. I've seen it Ulaan Bataar and Ulaan Baatar, and even Ulan Baataar. As jerkstore11 said, a little leniency on the spelling, especially where there are alternatives. Oh, and I think Yangon should be accepted, just as dar es salaam is acceptable on the African Capitals quiz, when the capital of Tanzania is actually Dodoma.

	Colombo is not the capital of Sri Lanka, it changed in 1978 - Colombo is now the "commercial capital" of Sri Lanka but not the official administrative capital. The correct answer should be "Sri Jayawardenepura-Kotte."

	The world quiz accepts "Colombo" and "Kotte" as answers (and writes "Kotte" as the official answer), I think this quiz should too.

	Actually the quiz would not be ruined, as Sporcle regularly adjusts their quizzes in such event. The presidents quiz was around for awhile before President Obama held his title, however, on the day he was elected, it was changed to reflect his position.

	Scores seem pretty high here for such obscure answers...Hard to believe 39/48 puts me about the 50 percentile. How many times do people take these quizzes?

	44 of 48. 45 if you count I tried 97 spellings of Mongolia's capital, but kept putting a space in it. Missed Yerevan (doh), Colombo (doh) and Naypyidaw (not a freaking clue). Ok I suppose.

	I agree with A_is_for_Addict's comments about Burma. Yangon should be accepted as an answer as the rightful and democratic leader of Burma (NOT MYANMAR) is under house arrest and until she states that the capital is moving it should not be acceptable on a quiz like this. Also MYANMAR should not be accepted. The Junta changed the name and not the people or the proper government. People accepting the use of Myanmar only adds credence to the Junta.

	A quiz should treat the world as it is, not as it should be. And since the de facto government of Myanmar is the military junta, it's capital is in fact Naypyidaw. Ignoring this doesn't solve anything.
