	11/20. It would be pretty tough if one were not well versed in latin or any of the romance language. I used my knowledge of french to deduce a few of them. Interesting quiz though.

	8/20. This is one of those where I'm slapping my head afterwards - duh! I should've had a lot more. Deer and wolf - I just looked those up recently and couldn't remember them. Turtle - the Terrapins, dammit. Bear and goats - should've thought of the constellations. Pork, the other white meat. I feel so freaking dumb.

	Shame I study Biology and I only got 12/20. Truth be told I haven't taken the Chordate Biology course, will do next semester, so I suppose I would have known the 20 had this quiz appeared in May '09.

	The rules were poorly explained for this game, at the same time I know little to no Latin at all so I doubt better rules would have helped me get more than O answers correct. More language related quizzes would certainly be awesome though!!

	Avine? Dictionary.com doesn't have it. Avian is the usual adjective. Otherwise 8/20.

	@Charlotte and Sarah: I'm not sure how else the rules could have been described — the title of the quiz was enough for me. And, although these words are (all?) derived from Latin, they are all, er, bona fide English words. Some of them are pretty obscure but I think I'd expect any native English speaker to recognize `canine' and `feline', even if they didn't know they came from the Latin for dog and cat, respectively. I've never been taught any Latin and I got half of these.

	@jereboam: `Avine' is in the OED as an alternative for `avian', though the latter seems to be much more common. I was going to suggest it as an alternative but it goes against the -ine theme of the quiz.
