This has nothing to do with science. Fire the foolish intern that put it here.

Those who do well at this quiz will have a greater understanding of http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8-F16WoHO4A (Music video published by Universal Music. Do not watch if you are likely to be offended by bikini-clad women using power tools, single/double entendres or allusions to bad language.)

"Juliet" is showing up as "julietT", and "Whisky" should surely be acceptable without the "e".

This is properly referred to as the NATO alphabet. There are many other phonetic alphabets: for example, the LAPD and many other US law-enforcement agencies use Adam, Boy/Baker/Bravo, Charles, ...; the US Military used to use Able, Baker, Charlie, ... and the British Royal Airforce used a slightly different one that started the same way.

Got em all, learned this years ago and nice to return to it. Nearly missed U, W and N though. Odd to me that Q isn't guessed more often while not many people have a problem getting X...

@Matt le sac: I said the RAF *used* to use Able, Baker, Charlie..., specifically until they adopted the NATO alphabet in 1956.

@The Snakes: I've seen a few references to the police using `Indigo' but the British military use `India', as far as I can see.

Seems like a quiz where you would get them all or you get none. I had to be able to spit out all 26 in under 8 seconds in ROTC.

Fun sporcle quiz. I remember this from my own days in the U.S. Air Force. I agree with previous poster about the 'all or nothing' nature of this quiz. 'Tis a shame that an intern got sacked over this quiz!

I just said them all in under 8 seconds. Can I join the ROTC Steve ? And what is the ROTC ? And whisky shouldn't have an E in it. E is in Irish whiskey but not in Scottish whisky. And yes maybe some American brews might have an E but we taught 'em how to speak in the first place. Not our fault they messed up the language when we left 'em on their own ;-)
