I love this quiz. It's short, simple, and makes me want to go home and watch "Best in Show"! Now a quiz of all AKC-recognized breeds, that might be pretty tough.

God loves a terrier, but apparently not the working group. I forgot the busy bee.

Can't believe I forgot terrier! Terriers are my very favorite breed. Cute and cuddly, easy dogs to feed. They will lift you up whenever you are down. Terriers average 40 pounds.

Aren't all dogs sporting or non-sporting? How can you be neither?

I can't believe I got four (and new herding but couldn't think of the word "herding"). Apparently, my mom's love of dog shows has rubbed off on me a bit too much. Still... dogs rule.

Fun quiz. You can easily get them if you've seen enough dog shows or Best In Show a dozen times like I have. (Love that movie!) I've always wondered why they didn't come up with a better name then "non-sporting" group for that one. The others all sort of describe what that group does or looks like but all they say about that the non-sporting group is what they don't do. Non-sporting, hmmn, almost like they are the elderly men screaming at kids to "Get off my lawn!" LOL

Originally, all the dogs were in one big group. Then they split them into "sporting" and "non-sporting". Then they split the working dogs out from the non-sporting group, the hounds out from the sporting group, and so on. At this point "non-sporting" is just a euphemism for "miscellaneous."

Spaniels are in the sporting group. They're hunting dogs.

@sdh: Thanks for the explanation, might be time for a renaming though! 5/7 and I'm a cat person, I'll take it.

I always loved that my Dalmatian growing up was a "non sporting" dog. Fit pretty well with the rest of the family :P

Sadly they cancelled the televised element of Crufts in the UK due to selective breeding and dogs getting defects.

got all 7 in 15 seconds, why not try 7 quizzes where you guess all the breeds within a group, or you could have ONE quiz, will all of them in, divided under each group!
