There used to be an eighth hill, but that one fell off. Or am I thinking of the fifth elephant?

This sucks, I entered Italian names as I don't know the English ones and none of them worked. Rated 1, if it was possible I'd rate it -5,

I don't think it is fair to fault the quizmaster for writing the quiz in the language of the quiz. Your comment is rated -1, if it was possible I'd rate it -5.

lol I don't know any of the hills, but I guessed Vatican Hill and it was a bonus answer. I'll take the moral victory.

Esteban: since the seven hills ARE in Italy, Italian names wouldn't be that strange to ask. But since I'd find these Italian alternatives weird myself I'd like to opt for acceptance of the Latin names. Noone learns these hills outside Latin class anyways ;p (and I knew some Latin names, just had no clue how to put'm in English)

But if we go by the "local language" rule, we'd have to redo the country quiz and make Italia, Osterreich, Suomi, etc all acceptable answers. And that gets to be a headache.

Esteban: It doesn't have to be that extreme. But look at the German states quiz. If it only had the English names as acceptable answers, it would suck, since most people who know the names, know them in German. Same here, I guess a lot of people know the hills by their original names. In this case Latin.

Silly me got Aventine, Esquiline and Palatine, which came up in alphabetical order, so I thought the other answers were in order too. They weren't. Oopsy.

Both Istanbul and Amman have seven hills as well. Many cities claim this, including Jerusalem. Would make a nice quiz. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_cities_claimed_to_be_built_on_seven_hills

I got the Capitoline and Palatine Hills, as they were named after important buildings that stood on them - the Capitol and the Emperor's Palace, respectively. The others eluded me.
