| as we look at the way the game is being played, there are some big team sport records that just seem unbreakable, unless they change the rules and the way the games are played....young's 511 is one of the hardest, if not THE hardest, record to break, nolan ryan's strikeout record, henderson's stolen bases, chamberlain averaging over 48 minutes per game and 50 points per game for a season, gretzky's scoring is another, he's almost a 1000 points more than mark messier, the 2nd all time leading scorer, oscar robertson's averaing triple double for a season and over a 5 season span, etc etc, back to baseball, what about walter johnson's most shutouts record? most people dont even pitch that many complete games in their career, let alone shutouts....how about 40 win pitching season? haven't seen one of those since jack chesbro in 1901....you've got to go back to a 4-man rotation, and come on as a reliever once in a while to finish some games |
