Next you should make a 2009 quiz. I have a feeling that it would be a lot easier ;)

Perhaps if "Warne" was accepted for Shane Warne, we could crack the elusive one-percent barrier!

I don't get the inclusion of the Graf and cricket plaers births. If you wanted to include these sports, was there not something that happened in 1969 you could have mentioned? Rod Laver won the Grand slam that year.

Cool! It was the year before I was born and I still managed to get 25 right! Fun quiz. More "year" quizzes would be great.

Fine, Sporcle, don't acknowledge my birth. I don't care (sniff). In other news, I had no idea Ho Chi Minh died in 1969. Somehow I thought he'd been around into the 70s, at least. Off to consult Wikipedia.

Hey everybody, hope you had fun. Someone in the comments of the last year quiz said there should be a 1969 quiz, and despite being born in '84, I thought it was a great idea. Fun fact: My dad was one of the people hospitalized at Woodstock after taking the infamous "brown acid".

Great Years for my two teams, the New York Jets and Mets. However, just about a bad year for everything else in the United States (with the exception of landing on the moon).

@lauraellen: I find it sad that only 15% got Stonewall, too, but I don't know why you have to compare it to Graf's 50%, as if to imply that knowledge of one is "better" than knowledge of the other. People should know about gay rights AND tennis!

Good quiz! One thing I will suggest though, is that people being born in a given year is not usually particularly memorable to anyone except that person's parents. Was it world news at the time when a future tennis or cricket player was born?

@Haman Karn, I don't know about anyone else, but I knew it was a Rolling Stones concert and the Hells Angels were involved. I just couldn't come up with the name "Altamont".

Good quiz, but at least 16 (probably more, i can't figure out if it is) of the 28 answers are based around the US, which seems a tad bit unfair tbh. And has anyone encountered problems typing de gaulle and not having it accpeted?
