	This is a completely insane list. How can the Police be on there but not U2? How no George Clooney or Tom Hanks? Generally absurd.

	@john - The Police made a ton of money with touring and advertising last year. The list is based largely on how much money they earned, how well their movies do at box office (that's why Cameron Diaz is so high on the list), how often their pictures are on magazine covers (Jolie, Pitt, Aniston), etc. I think they even count Google searches.

	#8 is very bull****ty- and I say that as a huge, huge, huuuuuuge Police fan who went to their last-ever concert. Yes, they had one of the highest-grossing tours ever, but that doesn't really make them "powerful". I mean, I could argue how Forbes defines the list as a whole, but I'm particularly unhappy with putting the Police in there (or at least putting them in there so high).

	This was a lot harder than I expected considering how much I follow entertainment news and celebrity gossip but I enjoyed it a lot. Probably would've done better if I knew any sports figures besides Woods, Beckham and Jordan.

	This quiz was fun, but the list is truly bizarre. I agree with the names above and found some other odd omissions: Drew Barrymore, Woody Allen, Martin Scorsese, Michael Phelps, Kate Hudson, the Olsens, Britney Spears, Christina Aguilera, Emeril Lagasse, Danielle Steel, Dave Chappell, the Weinstein Brothers, the Coen Brothers, etc, etc. I want to note that I can't stand many of these people, but they still have power in Hollywood. I think it may be more fun to list omissions! Also can you really call James Patterson "literature"?

	I would have to assume Schwarzenegger can't be on it for being an elected official. Either that or because of his job there really hasn't been anything lucrative as far as his acting career goes (as opposed to the people in the list who are still releasing films every year). I will also give a premptive congratualtions to half of the 2009 New York Yankees for the next edition of this list.

	@Josh T.: American talk show are more `powerful' than British or Australian ones because they have five times the potential audience of a British host and fifteen times that of an Australian. What makes you think that a golfer is any more or less important than any other sportsperson? Or actor, TV host, model, or any of the other categories on the list?

	Wow I was terrible at this quiz, though I liked it. I don't understand much of the shock at the answers though. They aren't "powerful" in the sense that they can mobilize armies or whatever, but I somehow doubt that Forbe's made it up. (though it seem they do come up with a lot of lists from pretty weak bases) These are people who make products sell when they put their name on them, or make people show up at theatres when they're in a movie, or create television ratings, or whatever. That said, I'm surprised the Yankee coming in the top 25 wasn't the guy who plays to his left, as I'm also surprised that several of the aforementioned football players weren't to be found.

	I'm stunned at some of the missing people - do endorsements count? Peyton manning is in every other commercial! Jeter, Clooney, and Bono should make the list too. How is Rachel Ray here, but not Martha Stewart? (Though by guessing her, I got jon Stewart) Celine Dion hasn't been relevant in 10 years.

	I love all your comments, and I completely agree!, which is exactly why I contributed this game. It came straight from Forbes and I, too, was astonished at some of the results - not just who's on the list but who's NOT on the list. I think the one that shocked me the most was that the Olsens were not on the list. Anyway, I just thought it was really interesting... and fun. That's why we're all here, right? :-) And @k3lit0, I AGREE! I'd love a "Pause" button on Sporcle. Not so I could go searching for answers, but just so I can have a few more minutes to think. :-))

	@Lisa: My comment was just a general assessment; not directed at the site, especially if the list came from Forbes. Although I wouldn't have made a quiz out of it, but more quizzes of any type are preferable to less.
