You might want to consider accepting Pitt for Pittsburgh and Miami for, well, Miami!

Thanks for the comment. I'll add Pitt for Pittsburgh, but I'm only going to accept "Miami OH" or "Miami (OH)" for Miami since most people typing Miami are thinking about Miami (FL).

Actually I typed it in thinking of Miami Ohio since it is in Ohio, one of the areas that college football first spread into.

College "American football" did not technically start until 1882. The first games were kicking only games, and the first "carrying" games were more like rugby.
