Hank Pym, the original Ant-Man appeared originally in the magazine "Tales To Astonish" and was known for several years as "The Astonishing Ant-Man". After some years, he found he could reverse the shrinking process and then became Giant Man, but lost his adjective in the process. By around issue 58 of The Mighty Avengers (and why aren't they on this list?) Pym suffered a nervous breakdown and took on the new personality of Yellowjacket, eventually passing his size changing powers to Hawkeye who became Goliath. Pym married his long time partner Janet Van Dyne (the Wasp) and they retired for several years. Some time after that Scott Lang, a reformed thief became the second Ant-Man, but was killed in an attack on the Avengers. Now a third person, Eric O'Grady has taken on the mantle Ant-Man and it is he, in a 2006 series, who got the adjective Irredeemable, since he has few scruples and uses his power for personal advantage.
