	Good quiz – although you've transposed the answers for Gillingham and Grimsby. Some common alternatives don't work, such as the colour-based one for Chester. And it's a shame the answer that shows up for Hartlepool is the prosaic one and not 'Monkey hangers' (which is accepted as an alternative)!

	Does "MK Dons" really count as a nickname? Does "Rovers" really count as a nickname for X Rovers given that fans of every club called X City will shout "Come on, City!" ?

	I think with MK dons it should just be dons. For anyone whos interested that name came about because the team used to be called wimbeldon, before its was moved to Milton Keynes. And yes rovers is correct, the fans aren't inventive enough to change it. lol. I know tractor boys is accepted for my team, but that is now the more common one used, maybe that should be the listed one

	@MikeHolmes: I don't dispute that Doncaster Rovers fans call their club `Rovers'. But supporters of X City, Y United and Z Town call their club `City', `United' or `Town', in addition to other more inventive nicknames, and I bet Crystal Palace supporters talk about `Palace' and so on. These don't seem to be nicknames to me; just abbreviations. In the same way that lots of people call me Dave but I wouldn't claim that as a nickname. But, I guess, if there isn't anything else that Doncaster supporters call their club, it's the closest they've got.

	david I still have the whole list in an excel file, i can email it to you if you like? The rules i used were when a proper nickname was present i wouldnt accept blues or reds or w/e however when non existed i did accept

And did thorough research as well as my own large knowledge on the sunject! It seems sporcle have edited some out from when i first submitted the quiz, e.g guroles for walsall and salop for shrewsbury seems to be no longer counted...

	I never heard Chester called the Seals while I lived there, so I'd like it if it accepted Blues for them as well. Then they would also shoot up from least guessed to 3rd most guessed.

	I think there is an e missing in the nickname that comes up for Chesterfiels...The Spireites. Could be wrong.

	Maybe it's just me but surely team names like Morecambe, Barnsley and Tranmere would make it obvious that the quiz ISN'T about American football.

	@Eldavo: It would say `NFL' or somesuch if it meant American Football. The league's name is just `The Football League' which, let's face it, is no more ambiguous than the `National Football League', which also doesn't specify which nation or which football.

	There are two incorrect entries in this quiz. "Scum" doesn't work for Preston North End or Burnley, and that's clearly their nicknames ... at least in Blackpool. Go Seasiders!

	Chesterfield's nickname is spelt "spireites". It's because of the famous crooked spire in the town.

	^ It's about the English game football. If we were talking about football in the US then by all means call it soccer. This is football in the UK. It is football. Furthermore, .com is not the TLD code for the US. ".us" is the US code. .com is the TLD for commercial sites WORLDWIDE.

	You shouldn't really accept Pool for Hartlepool. The club were originally named Hartlepools United because of Hartlepool and West Hartlepool. And although, they dropped the s in the 70s sometime, the nickname is still Pools not Pool.

	Leeds used to be the Peacocks (I think it stopped being used when they changed their colours from blue and yellow to white, in the 1960s0. Given that some old nicknames which have passed out of use are allowed (like "Glaziers" for Crystal Palace), I think this should be allowed too.
