	What I found most interesting was the progression from a number of widower presidents [back in the day when women had shorter life expectancy] to today when there hasn't been a widower president since Wilson in 1914, almost 95 years ago!

	Re: Steven M Nelson= If you read it, it says Dolley Madison was "friend of widower". Some of the designated "first ladies" were not wives but daughters or daughters-in-law.

	Wilson's first wife died while he was in office and he remarried about two years later. I can't imagine a president being able to court someone today. After his stroke, the second Mrs. Wilson shielded him from the public and carried out many of his duties,

	Andrew Jackson's wife was Rachel Donelson Robards Jackson. She died just before his inauguration in 1828. Thus the reason his cousin-in-law, Emily Donelson was his First Lady during his first term in office. Emily was married to Rachel's cousin Andrew Jackson Donelson, who also served in the White House under his cousin-in-law.
