| Yemen definitely needs to be here. Also Tunisia got rid of their dictator a while ago while in Cote d´ivoire the democraticly elected candidate seems to have gained power. Bhutan on the other hand has switched to a consitutional monarchy but you could argue that the king would still count because nobody would dare to go against him. But that leads you to all the other (de facto) absolute monarchs: Qatar, Oman, UAE, Kuwait, Jordan, Morocco, Brunei, Vatican City and maybe Tonga (probably missed some). Also there are alot of countries that are somewhat equivocal like for example Singapore (officialy a democracy but the People´s Action Party pulls all the strings). Also I haven´t been keeping up to date with my African coups but I think Niger is currently under a Junta. You really need a source for this. |
