| I can't believe I didn't think of Brooklyn! My ancestors are spinning in their graves--which they went to unwilling to acknowledge that Brooklyn was part of NYC. Real Brooklynites still don't quite admit it. For those of you not familiar with NY history,not only was Brooklyn its own city until 1898 as stated, but in the mid 19th century, some people thought that it might become larger than NYC since Brooklyn had more room to expand, unlike NYC, which at the time was confined to the island of Manhattan. |
