| I'm not even American yet I know things about America; for example the "Ellis Island" immigrants of the late 19th/early 20th century arrived in the north east part of the country and tended to stay in that region, too. This included immigrants from Italy as well as other places. In 1924, the number of Italian immigrants along with other southern and eastern Europeans was much reduced due to an act passed that year requiring that immmigration be mainly from northwest European countries. This law was influenced by the writings of Madison Grant, whose book Passing of the Great Race was also an influence on Hitler. |
