And I personally associate the treatment of Palestinians with the treatment of Jewish people in Nazi Germany and Black people during Apartheid South Africa. And as 'beautiful' as places in Israel are, the politics there very much tainted my experience of the country negatively. I did meet some lovely Israelis who shared my views, as a side note. Because I CAN "differentiate between people/places and governments".
Everytime people speak out against governments, the single easiest argument is to try to discredit someone by saying they can't differentiate between people and government. It is an argument without substance. And my only logical conclusion is that you want to discredit me because you believe it is OK for women in Saudi Arabia to be nothing more than a commodity.
