Chad is really the only one that belongs on this list. Each "y" in Cyprus, Egypt, and Kyrgyzstan functions like a vowel. That's why we say "... and sometimes y" when listing the vowels.

Y is absolutely a vowel in those cases! What about countries like Fiji, Togo, Canada, Bahamas, etc. They only have one vowel, it just happens to be repeated. Some clarification in your puzzle's directions would help.

I saw the title and thought, "isn't that just Chad?" Turns out I was right!

You are all talking kak, y is NOT a vowel, it may act like one, but it isn't. Even so if this is the case, Egypt should not be there - there isn't a vowel in it at all.

The rule is "sometimes Y" only applies when there are no other vowels in the word, like "shy". And it says one vowel in its name. Fiji has two vowels, yes they are the same letter but its used MORE than once.

@Drbling, you are completely wrong. THe rule "sometimes Y" applies when there are no other vowels in the syllable. This quiz only has one correct answer.
