A few notes: Some games were released on multiple formats. I chose to mention all formats they were originally released for, even if one of the version was given a slightly lower grade. Also, for the years marked with an asterisk(*), this is a graded re-release of an older game to a new (handheld) platform. Have fun!

Dude, gotta accept Final Fantasy 7 for FFVII. Seriously. Also, Final Fantasy VI advance? Really? Just accept Final Fantasy 6 or Final Fantasy VI or Final Fantasy III. Golden Sun, Diablo and Paper Mario but not their vastly superior sequels? Questionable.

You misspelled Chrono Cross; there's no h in the second word.

I have no idea how I misspelled Chrono Cross. I am deeply ashamed. As for Jay's comment, I have no idea what he's on. Final Fantasy 7 is and always has been accepted.

how about accepting knights of the old republic? I mean you took oblivion without the elder scrolls IV in front of it.

Well, when I had "Final Fantasy" and typed, 1, 2, 3...it only popped in with 8. When I tried it again, it still didn't allow it. I sense shenanigans. In any case, way to completely not address the Final Fantasy 6 issue. I mean, seriously. Anyone who types in "final fantasy vi" and so-forth clearly knows what they're talking about.

It worked for me Jay. Anyway good quiz. I love Fallout 3 and Oblivion. Bethesda is amazing.

deze: Oversight on my part, will correct. Jay: I didn't address it because it wasn't an issue. I'd venture to say that most people who enter "final fantasy vi" or "final fantasy 6" is doing so with about zero point little percent thought of the GBA version, but rather just trying every FF number there is.

Why is it that OoT is considered by many to be the greatest game ever created if it's not on this list?

Because it's not an RPG. At least not according to MC, and I can only agree.

Except that Final Fantasy 6 has a gigantic fanbase who would include it because the SNES version is one of the greatest games ever made. How many of the people voting do you honestly think only looked at the ports of the games instead of the games? It's just ridiculous to leave out an entire population of folks who appreciate the last 2D Final Fantasy just because you don't like people typing all the Final Fantasies in.

Every FF game has a gigantic fan base. FF VI does not stand out in that respect. Allowing people to get the - differently named, mind you - GBA port just by randomly guessing FF numbers. And yes, this is different from allowing people to get all the other FF games on this list with that method. The others are avoidable, this one isn't, as it's differently named and is an altered re-release. And just suggesting I "leave out" a "population" of 2D lovers is just absurd. I'm so glad I'm not you.

Glad to see that when faced with common sense and logic you rely on ad hominem attacks.

I gave up the moment "Final Fantasy 6" by itself failed to work. Since there are so few items prior to 2000 it seemed much more likely to have been left off than the "Advance" strictly required. I understand the creator's point about wanting to block people who enter "Final Fantasy" + random number, but this seemed a cheap way of doing so. It's like denying someone "Star Wars" on a box office gross quiz because they didn't include "The Special Edition." Although I definitely think the problem is mostly caused by Metacritic and/or its users having such a whacked-out list.

This is why Metacritic is terrible for gaming. Amazing games like Super Mario RPG fail to make the cut as well as other memorable games and series.

I honestly think that people loved Mario RPG so much just because it's "hey it's like Mario and RPG at the same time, wowzers", because it's such a silly little game. Pretty fun, but not like a top 100 RPG.
